"Hot Buttered Soul" by Isaac Hayes
CLASSIC ALBUM OF THE WEEK
Isaac Hayes "Hot Buttered Soul" 1969 (USA)
The second solo set by Stax-Volt songwriter/producer Isaac Hayes is one of the first and best "psychedelic soul" albums, and was a monster best seller at a time when the prevailing view within the record industry was that "black artists sell singles, not albums." Rumor has it that many babys born in the early 70's were conceived to the sounds of side 2 of this record . . . Happy Valentine's Day!
