Attila's one and only album (Billy Joel, right)
CLASSIC ALBUM OF THE WEEK
Attila 1970 (USA)
Yes, the little guy on the right with the moustache is none-other than BILLY JOEL! It wasn't that many years before he became "The Piano Man" that Billy was the lead singer and organist of the heavy guitarless duo ATTILA (with Jon Small on drums.) Mr. Joel has since refered to this record as "psychedelic bullshit" and says it was inspired by Led Zeppelin, although Keith Emerson's electric organ histrionics with The Nice seems a more obvious influence. Personally, I wish Billy had stuck with playing electrified heavy metal keyboards, he was really good at it! Sadly Attila only recorded this one LP.
