"Half Machine Lip Moves" by Chrome 1979
CLASSIC ALBUM OF THE WEEK
Chrome  "Half Machine Lip Moves"  1979 (USA)
This album is one of the great "underground" recordings of all time.  Chrome was a little-known band from San Francisco that came into being about the same time as punk rock, but maintained a deceidedly freaky psychedelic edge and a morbid interest in SciFi dystopias.  Basically, they were "cyberpunks" in the truest sense, at least a decade before that term was coined!  This is their third album, and the most indicative of the gonzo genius of Chrome at their best.  Founding member Damon Edge passed away a few years ago, but lead guitarist & vocalist Helios Creed has maintained an active music career, and occasionally still goes out on tour as "Chrome."
