Patto  "Roll 'Em Smoke 'Em Put Another Line Out" 1972 (UK)
Patto was a British group mainly known for strong musicianship and a "progressive jazz rock" yet pub-friendly sound.  This was their third and final album, and by far the most interesting of their output.  Sea shanties and funk numbers bump up against comedy songs and one stone classic proto-metal number, "Loud Green Song", which by itself is enough to make this record worth a listen.   The band's exteremely impressive lead guitarist Ollie Halsall was such a musical virtuouso in fact, that he ended up playing piano and vibraphone on about half of the band's output!  You may also have heard him singing the "McCartney" parts in The Rutles mockumentary (the songs lip-synched by Eric Idle.)
