"Junk vinyl" is the theme of the program this week, and I recently saw this gem in a used record store selling for a mere $1.00, so figured it would make a good CAOTW.  This was the fourth Amboy Dukes album, and the first to feature Ted Nugent's name over the rest of the group.  Clearly a transitional album, this weird little sucker features a combination of hard rock and prog stylings that seems like it may have been influenced by Frank Zappa (not the first name one thinks of in relation to The Nuge, but shortly after this album came out he did in fact sign to Zappa's Discreet label for the remaining batch of Amboy Dukes records.)  In short -- if you see this LP going for a measley dollar, grab it!
The Amboy Dukes' greatest claim to fame was their classic 1960's hit single "Journey To The Centre Of The Mind".  Here's another clip from the same era, "Flight Of The Byrd".  Undoubtedly, the heaviest groove from Nugent's post-Dukes solo career would have to be the epic "Stranglehold".
