"The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars" by David Bowie (1972)
CLASSIC ALBUM OF THE WEEK
David Bowie  "The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars"  1972 (UK)
Kosmik Radiation has been on the air for "five years" now, which also happens to be the leadoff track from David Bowie's most classic album, which furthermore is the first rock LP I ever purchased (I still remember it was $3.10 in the cut out bin).  Besides featuring Bowie's best batch of songs, this album also features a classic band led by guitarist Mick Ronson.
Here's the song I heard on the radio that caused me to buy this album, "Starman".  However I was a little disappointed that the album didn't also include his earlier kosmik klassik, "Space Oddity". But that's okay, it's packed with lots of great songs like "Five Years".  Here's a non-LP single performed in the Ziggy persona (with Ronson going off on guitar):  "The Jean Genie".
