"Future Language" by VON LMO
CLASSIC ALBUM OF THE WEEK
VON LMO "Future Language" 1981 (USA)
Some albums are in a class all by themselves. The first album by Von LMO is usually considered to be "no wave punk", but it's really more like heavy metal space jazz with an outsider attitude. Imagine if Graham Parker had joined Hawkwind, and you're starting to get the idea. Amazingly, 15 years after recording this one-off album in 1981, Mr. LMO returned to the studio to record a brand new album "Red Resistor" (Variant 1997) and if anything he managed to get even heavier and further out!
