CLASSIC ALBUM OF THE WEEK
Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention  "One Size Fits All"  1975 (USA)
This month is the 20th anniversary of Frank Zappa's passing, and the Decemer 21 would have been his 73rd birthday. This week's classic album is the final release by one of FZ's most classic lineups, the mid-70's band which featured the late George Duke (vocals & keys), Napoleon Murphy Brock (vocals, sax & flute), Chester Thompson and Ralph Humphrey (drums), Tom Fowler (bass) and the amazing Ruth Underwood, whose xylophone and marimba licks are almost as much a signature of the Zappa sound as Frank's own guitar (she played on his records on and off since Uncle Meat way back in 1968 when she was still Ruth Komanoff, and was still involved in the waning days of Frank's life). Including one of Zappa's signature songs "Inca Roads" (his big guitar solo concert showcase for much of the era), and without a weak track to be found, this is an underappreciated gem in the FZ discography.
