Dieter Möbius was one half of the legendary electronic duo Cluster (along with Hans-Joachim Rödelius), and Konrad (Conny) Plank was Germany's most legendary producer and quite possibly the architect of the "krautrock" sound.  Plank produced all of Cluster's classic albums in the 1970's (as well as Kraftwerk, NEU! and many others) and was like a third member of that group, and so naturlich they continued to make records together after Cluster broke up.  Rastakraut Pasta was the first of these, and is a fascinating album that bridges the krautrock sound of the 1970's and the burgeoning post-punk/new wave/dub sounds that were taking off at the dawn of the 1980's.
I don't believe Dieter & Conny performed live together (in fact I've never come across any video of Plank anywhere), but here's fan videos for "Missi Cacadou" from this album and "Tollkühn" from the follow-up.  Also, a more recent clip of Dieter Moebius making his electronic sounds.  Some other classic Kosmik artists featured on the show this week include intergalactic Bowery boy Von LMO and the indescribable Boredoms from Japan.
